Chilliwack is preparing for the Tsunami of Homeless
Seniors on fixed incomes may end up being the largest increase in homelessness in the next few years.
A senior on OCP and Canada Pension may get $1200/month today and over a several-year period will have seen a near 25% inflation on food, rent, and gas.
This inflation means that their $1,200 fixed income is really only worth $900. and now they are homeless.
These are not the addicted .. these are our parents!
Cities really need to get to the table now and solve this unaffordable housing problem.
